A Chicago Tribune’s story on Joc-joc Bolante and his application for US asylum. He cites the political killings as proof that his life may be in danger. The fact that many people are being killed in the Philippines proves that life is cheap. Therefore, it would be easy to kill him if he were to go back to the Philippines. And so he concludes that he should stay where he is, in the United States, instead of in the Philippines where people want him to explain what happened to millions of taxpayers’ money that was entrusted to him.
