The King of the Road

Filipinos don’t know how to obey when they’re in the Philippines, some commentaries say. Let us begin, some said before, by obeying authorities.
What about the “authorities”? Do they obey the same laws that the citizens are supposed to obey? Have they, by the example they set, taught us to obey? Last Sunday a looong motorcade of MMDA vehicles caused traffic along University Avenue in UP Diliman. Motorists along both sides of the road patiently waited but, when the motorcade seemed endless, began honking in protest. MMDA labs you, read one of the tarpaulin posters on the vehicles. Some kind of love. p10202791
