Presidential chopper missing; SMA, Palace Usec onboard

A Bell 412, with Brig. Gen. Carlos Clet, the President’s senior military aide, Palace undersecretary Joe Capadocia, Palace Appointments Undersecretary Malou Frostrom onboard has been reported missing after it failed to arrive at its destination in Ifugao province, Tuesday afternoon.
The chopper took off from Baguio City shortly after 4 p.m. for Ifugao province, which President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is scheduled to visit Wednesday. In a radio interview with DzBB, Press Secretary Serge Remonde said the Bell was one of the best choppers of the Philippine Air Force, and they are hoping that the pilot made an emergency landing somewhere. Given the mountainous terrain, they could have landed in an area where there was no cell phone signal.
Reports say the Malacanang Media Affairs Relations Office’s last contact with Capadocia was at 5 p.m., where he said that they had zero visibility. Police stations and even mining companies in the area have been alerted to look for the missing helicopter.
**my apologies. I earlier said Gen. Clet was the PSG chief.
