The ARF VDR is on!!!

The Asean Regional Forum’s (ARF) Voluntary Demonstration of Response on Disaster Relief (VDR) began Monday, May 4 with a demonstration of a mock rescue at sea.
We will deal with this as if the injuries were real, one man said during the briefing.
Japan had the largest delegation, 80 in all, plus a maritime search and rescue plane that can land in water. This is the first time it has participated in an exercise outside Japan.

    Some thoughts on disaster preparedness/recovery:

    Are You Disaster Ready?

    What do you expect in case of loss? Who cares? Who has disaster preparedness/recovery money for that?
    I don’t have all the answers, but I do have this one:
