House Resolution 1109 approved

The "ayes" have it. House Resolution 1109, convening the House of Representatives into a constituent assembly, is approved.
The House of Representatives approved late Tuesday night a resolution calling for the convening of Congress into a constituent assembly that would then amend the Constitution.

Voting by “ayes” and “nays,” 211 congressmen passed House Resolution 1109 at 11:32 p.m. Cavite Rep. Elpidio Barzaga Jr., one of the proponets of the resolution, said he believes the House committee on rules would be the one to convene the House into a constituent assembly. Personally, he added, he has “no idea” as to when the constituent assembly would be convened.
